The Must-See Landmarks
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
No exaggeration: this is one of the most beautiful buildings on Earth. The Grand Mosque combines 82 white marble domes, 1,000+ columns, the world's largest hand-knotted carpet (5,627 square metres), and seven Swarovski crystal chandeliers — including one that weighs 12 tonnes.
The mosque is open to visitors of all faiths, and there's no admission charge. Guided tours are available, or you can explore independently.
Tips: Visit at sunset for the most stunning photographs. The mosque is equally breathtaking at night when illuminated. Modest dress is required (abayas and kanduras available free of charge at the entrance for those who need them).
Louvre Abu Dhabi
The first universal museum in the Arab world, housed in a breathtaking Jean Nouvel-designed building with a distinctive "rain of light" dome. The collection spans human creativity from prehistoric artefacts to contemporary art, with works by Da Vinci, Monet, Magritte, and Ai Weiwei.

Abu Dhabi Corniche
An 8-kilometre waterfront promenade with pristine public beaches, cycling paths, fountain parks, and stunning views of the city skyline. Perfect for a morning walk or an afternoon picnic.
Emirates Palace / Qasr Al Watan
The presidential palace opened sections to the public in 2019. The interior is a showcase of Arabian architecture — marble floors, gold leaf ceilings, massive chandeliers, and a library housing rare manuscripts. The evening light show is spectacular.

Heritage Village
A recreated traditional oasis village on the Corniche breakwater, demonstrating Bedouin life, pearl diving history, and traditional crafts. Artisans work on-site weaving, pottery, and metalwork. Free entry.
