What Is Global Village?
Imagine if you could visit 40 countries in a single evening β taste their food, buy their crafts, watch their performers, and experience their culture β all without a passport. That's Global Village.
Open from October to April each year, Global Village is the world's largest tourism, leisure, shopping, and entertainment project. Spread across 1.6 million square metres (about the size of 230 football fields), it draws over 7 million visitors each season and has been running since 1997.
It's part festival, part theme park, part international bazaar, and part concert venue β and somehow, it works. Whether you're 5 or 75, travelling solo or with an extended family, there's something here that will make you stop, look, and probably buy something you didn't know you needed.
The Country Pavilions
The heart of Global Village is its 40+ country pavilions. Each pavilion is architecturally themed to represent its country and filled with products, food, and cultural experiences from that region.
Must-Visit Pavilions
Turkey Pavilion β Turkish lamps, ceramics, ice cream vendors who do the famous stretchy-ice-cream show, baklava, and Turkish coffee. One of the most visually stunning pavilions.
India Pavilion β Typically the largest pavilion, with multiple interconnected areas selling spices, textiles, jewellery, electronics, and street food. The biryani alone is worth the trip.
Morocco Pavilion β Leather goods, argan oil products, tagines, and intricate tilework. The interior design is gorgeous and worth exploring even if you don't buy anything.
Japan Pavilion β Electronics, skincare products, anime merchandise, matcha products, and authentic Japanese snacks. Consistently one of the most popular pavilions.
Thailand Pavilion β Thai massage stations (surprisingly good and affordable), silk products, street food, and wellness products.
Pakistan Pavilion β Handcrafted furniture, jewellery, onyx stone products, and spectacular Lahori food. Often underrated by first-time visitors.
Egypt Pavilion β Papyrus art, essential oils, spices, and replicas of pharaonic artefacts. The architecture alone is striking.
